Another weekend, another good time with the O'Learys. It would not be accurate to say that Sylvie can "play" with Jake and Madeline yet. It would, however, be fair to say that she gets a kick out of being around them, and that if Madeline is near by Sylvie has eyes only for Madeline. She watches everything Madeline does, which is a good thing. As I've already mentioned, we're hoping she picks up on such behaviors as "please," "thank you," and "Hi Sylvie, I like your socks." Dad made a big pot of chili last night - last gasp of winter, hopefully - and so the O'Learys came over to help us take care of it. It's great to have them so close by now. On Friday Melissa and Sylvie went over to their house to play with the kids in their massive, well-stocked play room (The O'Leary Toy Emporium).
In other news, today Melissa signed Sylvie up for a weekly play group in Needham. This is kind of as much for moms as for the kids at this age, but they are both looking forward to it.
We're also pondering moving Sylvie into solid food. Well, semi-solid anyhow. Rice cereal is in her immediate future. She is hungry almost all of the time, which is a sign that she's ready. Also, she watches us intently when we eat - another supposed sign.
