The Day After

The boys did some car shopping while the girls and the kids went to the bounce park. Then we all met back up for a birthday lunch for Grandpa Steve, followed by a quick "walk it off" trip to the deCordova sculpture garden!

But first... yoga.

Turkey Day

Though Syl missed most of her cousins this year (feel better, Aunt Kem!), she was excited to hang out with Marrock, her Aunts and Uncles, and her Grandma and Grandpa!

First order of business was a mini birthday celebration on Thanksgiving Eve, for Melissa (the holiday birthdays get the raw deal every year!)

The next morning, we conscripted a local lumberjack in a funny hat to smoke the turkey. Lucky he was around.

19.5 pounds!

Getting there...

Done!

The rest of the meal was a team effort (aside from the tons of pre-cooking Melissa did...)

BIG table!

After dinner, this guy got his first taste of cocoa... I think he liked it.

Minecraft mania

Sylvia has become pretty good friends this year with a group of boys in her class, all of whom are obsessed with an online video game called Minecraft. Syl is definitely behind the curve when it comes to video games, so she invited Jake O’Leary over today to give her a crash course.

They’re pretty cute.

Little Shop of Horrors

Syl and I saw Wayland High School’s production of Little Shop of Horrors this week. I was surprised at Sylvie’s interest in seeing it, given that she still deems The Little Mermaid movie too scary to watch.

She really enjoyed it until the finale, when *SPOILER ALERT* the plant eats all of the main characters and takes over the world. She was super annoyed at the ending (think pouting and crossed arms) and I was kind of surprised when she didn’t march up to the director and give him a piece of her mind.
