T or T 2015

I took the pink pirate out trick or treating this year with her pal Saachi and her dad and little brother. Awfully nice people with an awfully fun and friendly (if widely-spaced and hilly) neighborhood. Sylvie had a blast.

I admonished her early on to make sure to thank everyone who gave her candy... and from then on the homeowners got this treatment from the Pink Pirate:

Yes... that was a stranger. I'm okay with it.

As always, the last house was the best. The homeowner here got an extra big hug.

Halloween walk

Sylvie and I headed back to the rail trail after our run for a Halloween walk while Dan moderated a panel discussion at MIT. Our "Pink Pirate" bumped into her pals Edward and Brynn and enjoyed a few old-school games.

Training hard

Sylvie is up to almost 3 miles!  We're still alternating walking and jogging, but the jogging segments are now much longer than the walking ones. I'm so proud of her!

How I'm spending my year off (so far)

Sophie has been enjoying my taste of retirement, too.

Our Brownie

I switched Sylvie to a different Brownie troop this year because the only activities her prior troop did were assembling crafts and eating gluten-free cookies (Sylvie got bored of the first, and was not a fan--who is?--of the second). Such a good move!  The year just started and her new troop has already taken a hike/nature scavenger hunt. 

Perfect fall day

... For a ride on the rail trail! Sylvie put in 6.5 miles without breaking a sweat.  

And all that was AFTER a training run with her mom!
