A different kind of color!

Syl doesn't come to us with many asks. So when she proposed dying her hair pink at camp, we gave her the go. As things turned out, the in-camp dye artist slacked off and it never happened, so last weekend I took Syl to get her pink done right.  We love how it came out!

We missed Sophie's birthday while Syl was at camp. So since Bru's is coming up, we had a joint celebration. Of course they got their favorite thing: homemade pizza.

This was Syl's look for school photos this year.

Throwback dinner out

Got my favorite athena folks together for a dinner last week to celebrate my latest hire at Sprinklr: Jacob, who was among my first hires at athena, and truly key to whatever success I had there. I am super excited.

As a special bonus, we went to the new restaurant of our friend, Pedro, who used to run Casa de Pedro on the athena campus. It was great! Lots of familiar dishes, and a warm welcome from the owner.

Final Foliage Fotos

Always allowing for the possibility that I'll stumble across a resilient tree that I cannot resist, I'm guessing these are the last leaves I'll subject you to this year.

7th Grade, for real (kinda)

This kid started her "hybrid" 7th grade experience today, with her first in-person day at school. She reports it was "weird, but good."

After school, we made this in the driveway, out of leaves from the same tree.

Can't stop with the foliage photos...

Into the woods - with K

Of course one of Syl's top priorities for her first weekend back in the real world was getting together with Kaileigh. K is a particularly good friend for a hike. The kid loves to explore, climb, poke around under logs (EVERY log!), and seems to get a ton of joy from just being outside. We had a really nice time on an unexpectedly beautiful Saturday. Was I glad I brought my camera!

K doesn't have a lot of fear...

Syl took this one.

After the hike, I ran back into the woods to recover a dropped jacked - and nearly got my head taken off by this beautiful/scary fellow.
