Team in Town

Two of my three leadership team members at Sprinklr live in the Boston area (and came from athena...). The other, Greg, is just a gem of a guy who lives in Indy, and who often seems (though doesn't say) bummed when the rest of us get together periodically for beers. So we decided to have an impromptu "retreat" earlier this month, and we flew him out.

We spent Day One in a conference room in Cambridge, and then did a little walking tour of Harvard Square before heading to the North End for a fantastic dinner.

For Day two the team came out to the house.

"Team building" = walking on the frozen pond.

The pups were bummed at not being able to get through the frozen fence gates, so...

Lunch in Concord, and then dinner in West Concord before everyone headed home.

I work with a great group of people.

From mop to cloud

I realized the other day that I have not gotten Sophie groomed since the summer (!!!). She was looking NASTY. And I could not get an appointment for weeks. So...

New Studio

Seems strange to say I got Syl a "room" for Christmas, but her new art studio above the attached garage is done! The space was an uninsulated attic prior to the work. Now it is insulated, heated/air conditioned, and has great overhead lighting and skylights. She wanted to keep the floor raw so that she can spill paint with abandon.

The first piece of furniture is the professional easel Gram and Gramp got Syl for Christmas.

And of course the first decorations are One Piece posters. She is going to have friends over some time soon to paint the walls with whatever strikes their fancies.

I think my grandfather would be (is?) happy to know that the kitchen table he made my mom so long ago is still with us, and is now Syl's art table.

What Syl and I have been up to

Not much! We mostly chill and watch reruns of Project Runway.

Sylvia loves the current host Christian Siriano so much that she drew his likeness and inspirational quote on our whiteboard.

We went out to dinner Saturday night. Yep, Valentine’s Day dinner night (totally forgot). Sylvia thought it was hilarious that we were surrounded by romantic diners.

We made a favorite from Japan, cold soba with a side of tofu. Perfect for a freezing February day.

And we stopped by the new digs to check out the progress. The pond is frozen over, which Syl thinks is fantastic. I saw a bunch of people walking their dogs on it the other day. A weird frozen dog park! One of the best things about our new home is how tight the community is there. Our next door neighbor, Alice, emails me regularly with updates (gossip) about the neighborhood happenings.

(Action shots of Sylvie attempting to hit me with snowballs from the pond. Somehow I survived.)

"Christmas" in Florida

We gave Santa a pass, but other than that, January "Christmas" in FL was more or less the real deal! Thanks for keeping the tree up for us, Grammy!
