Meet Misty

Misty is Sylvia's alter ego. Syl told me that she's Misty when she and Rose are pretending to be super villains with ninja skills.

Roller Kingdom

Sylvie's only request this break is that we go to Roller Kingdom. Since I've retired my roller blades (after one I'll-advised attempt), we brought along Syl's friend Cassie. Cassie had never skated before, so Syl held her hand for most of the skating. They even did the couples skate!  :)

Syl also competed in the skating races, coming in a respectable 3rd. 

 

 

A few days off

It is Syl's April vacation week. Initially we'd planned to go to Mt Washington for a few days, but as we set out to plan activities last week we realized we (I, really) flubbed: we're too late for cold weather activities, and too early for warm weather ones. So we called an audible and decided on a "Staycation." I'm still taking off a few days, and (mostly) succeeding in ignoring work.

In addition to providing some time to do things like, you know, change lightbulbs, we're dodging rain showers and spending as much time as possible outdoors.

We love our woods path, but nearby Heard Farm offers things our path doesn't... like a river.  This actually represents a real milestone: the first time Bruschi dared venture into the water! He still doesn't get the swimming thing, and he kept trying to grab a massive, submerged branch instead of the stick we threw for him. But it is progress.

Bruschi actually just got home from a two week "boot camp" training program back in Holliston. We went back today for a quick human training session.

Afterward, Syl needed some ice cream.

Finally, Syl and I hit the Weston trails on our bikes again. I think this might be our "thing" this summer. She gets better every time out.

At brunch, we met the Bunny himself.

Syl had a balanced meal. Fish, egg, and poultry.

Spring, sprung

The warm weather has arrived, at least for now. And that means, among other things, Sylvie LOVES to eat outside.

Throwing this in there, just because it is cool (and kind of bad a**).

Of course since Syl's new love is figure skating, she and I did a little regression to winter Saturday morning, for her first figure skating club class.

It was HARD, but Syl kept at it. And though she could not do everything the instructors tried to show her, she is excited to try again next week.

Back to the nice weather, Syl and I did some Sophie walking (Bruschi is still at Boot Camp, until tomorrow!)

And then we went out for Sylvie's first ever trail ride. She did great!

So great that we dragged Melissa out on Easter afternoon!
