All the photos from Sylvie's Spooky Fifth

I thought with my bum arm that it would be a light year for photos at Syl's fifth.... but Trystan really stepped up!  From the balloon guy (freaky talented) to tattoos, to the piƱata, to the dance party and finally cake, she got it all.  Click here for a slow view, or enjoy this slideshow.

This Sandy is no joke!

Big tree down across the street. Power out... But my girls are prepared!

FIVE!

Very successful 5th today!  Sylvie attended her Halloween-themed party dressed as a beautiful flower fairy - thanks for making a great costume, Grandma Lynne!

Trystan and Nisha helped me out - a LOT - with photos and video.  With only my dumb hand though it is going to take some time to get through them.

Here's the big moment...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SYLVIE (almost...)!!!

Shoulder surgery video

My surgeon gave me a dvd to take home.  Checked it out today - so interesting!  The inside of a shoulder looks nothing like what I expected.

Not for the weak-stomached...

Syl is worried about her dad

So she got up and made me this. Such a good kid.

Home and fine.

Surgery today went fine.  Took longer than expected... turns out I had BOTH a labrum tear and a rotator cuff tear, so they repaired both.  Good to be home.  Sings these days sure are something!!! Thanks for all the well-wishes.

A great day for pumpkin carving

We had a LOT on the to-do list this weekend, what with my pending one-armed month (surgery this Weds).  One of those things was pumpkin carving.  Trouble was, it was a gorgeous fall day.  So Sylvie and I decided to take the carving outdoors. Great call.

The original design specs

The end product - yum.
More in the October 2012 gallery.

My Pats Pal

I think she's actually figuring out the game.  When McCourty busted out a kickoff return for a TD today, Sylvie jumped off the couch and yelled the whole way down the field, ending in "TOUCHDOWN!!!"  A proud moment.  Then later on, in OT, she insisted I pause the game because she "really, REALLY" had to go potty.

Of course she also asked me what the Patriots did to be put in time out, so there are some details she hasn't picked up yet.

Very serious about staying in the lines...

The kid has a lot of PJs

This would be her mom's influence...

If you're going to be in the neighborhood...

Punkin' Huntin' 2012

Matt Hamilton is in town for the weekend (he has a work conference in Boston on Monday).  Today he joined us on our annual pilgrimage to Out Post Farm in search of just the right pumpkins...

Faeries!!!

The Liggetts always come up with such interesting things to do when we visit.  This weekend we headed to Chester, CT for the annual "Faerie Village" exhibit at the Griswold Art Museum in nearby Old Lyme.  Artists each create a "faerie house," scattered about the grounds of the museum.  Each has a theme, explained in a written guide and read for us by Alex.  The houses are amazingly detailed.  The girls, of course, LOVED it.  Syl and Syd both wore their fairy wings (Sydney's ended up on Allison, Sylvie's ended up carried by Melissa).  Alex thought the houses were pretty interesting too.  And the day was pretty much perfect, weather-wise.

I got TONS of cute photos - all in the new October 2012 gallery.  Some faves...

I also caught Melissa in a pensive moment and got this series of really pretty shots.
