July art

For pride month, Syl took it upon herself to make some art based on supposedly-gay South Park characters. One of them won a national online contest! She also did this beautiful pencil drawing of baby bunnies for a friend.

This was the award winner!

Camp Drop!

Camp Drop! Hard to leave her for so long, but wonderful to see the place she is going to be for three and a half weeks. Nice to see her counselor greet Syl with a bear hug! For the first time since Covid started, I was able to get out of the car, see where Syl is going to live, and walk around a bit before heading home.

Trek Across MEtrowest

For all of the years I worked at athenahealth, and annual highlight was the three day Trek Across Maine bike ride a huge group of us did together.

Some months ago, another athena alum came up with the idea of doing a "Trek Across MEtrowest" (get it?). I eagerly agreed to host the launch and after-party. We sent out a broad invite, did some route planning, and the result was an absolutely perfect day of catching up with old friends, meeting their families, and enjoying the nostalgia. And - important bonus! - we used the event to raise nearly $10,000 for the Pan Mass Challenge!

Rada came all the way from Chicago!

Annual Ethan and Bruchi shot:

Josie got to help feed the Monster!

This was the coolest surprise. This young woman is Raji, who worked at athena in Chennai, India. She is a talented artist, and has always been a fan of Syl's work. What a wonderful treat that she just moved to Boston and was able to join us!

The Scott kids always brighten my day.

July misc

Butt-to-butt seems to be the pup's preferred configuration this summer.

Syl won't yet admit she likes the pool, but she's spent a lot of time in it this month!

Squirrels are terrorists. And so smart.

Gram and Gramp's Summer Visit

It was good to have Gram and Gramp aboard for a 4th of July cookout and some mid-summer fun.
