So Sylvie's "art" has hit what we understand is a milestone: her figures are now recognizable as something vaguely human...ish.
She brought these two home from school today. Her explanation of the first was particularly touching. We asked who is in the picture, and without hesitation she indicated "Aunt Willow (right) and John (left)." Apparently the newly-engaged couple is on her mind. John and Willow, I'll send the original of this one to you since it's likely your first "portrait" together. We might even arrange for the artist to sign it.
Sylvie was equally certain in her identification of the subjects in the more complicated picture below. Clockwise, starting with small, colored-in figure at the top they are: Sylvie, Daddy, Jake, Madeline and Mommy.
We asked "what are those spots all over the people?" Sylvie pondered a second, then replied, "probably wood chips."
No idea.
