Day two started in the car, first for a short drive to a cute breakfast place that we almost skipped because it was in a gas station. We were glad we didn't (did I mention yet that we didn't have a bad meal the whole time?)
One of the things we commented on all week was how varied not only the topography could be from park to park, but also the climate. A day after hiking in 97 degree heat, we were hiking past lingering snow.
This was a lot steeper than maybe it looks in the photos. And the loose rock made it challenging for both of us.
The climb was worth it for this shot!
On the other side of the small canyon we could see the little "window" where Syl had sat.
