Chicken pox (?)

Sylvie woke up yesterday morning with what looked like a series of bug bites on her abdomen. More last night; more this morning.  We're pretty sure she has chicken pox.  It's hard to tell these days, because the vaccine lessens the symptoms considerably.  But she's definitely lethargic and grouchy.... and then there are those little red welts.

Our friend Andy, who is a doctor (an anesthesiologist, but still) stopped by yesterday and took a look, and said while it's hard to say for sure early on, he'd bet on the pox.  That was enough, sadly, for us to cancel our planned trip to see my cousins and their kids today in Connecticut.  Going to stay home and let Syl watch movies or whatever - take a calm day and see what happens with the rash.

In other news, Syl's pal Jake did his best Batman impression off their couch last night, and ended up with his arm in a cast!  Syl is sad that her pox are preventing her from paying him a visit.
