Final leaves and misc

 October may be my favorite month.  It certainly is, photography-wise.

A busy Sunday!

 First, an early ride, freezing to start, sweltering at end. New England in October!

Then a nice mid-day hike

But we were just getting started! We had four pumpkins to carve...

... and a gift bench to assemble!

Still running!

 Syl and I have been keeping up the running - and she even went on one  herself! Another six and change miles this past weekend, and she insisted on "running not jogging" the final mile. 

More October Art

 October was a nice combo of digital, sketch pad, and painting.

I already posted this first one, but thought it worth a repeat. Beautiful painting that we brought to Aunt Mary in the rehab center.

And finally, my favorite: Syl's birthday present to me. I was blown away.

Runner!

 A few weeks ago, Syl mentioned she'd like to be more active. So we went out and got her some new running shoes. That weekend we did 2.5 miles, with several walking stops. 

Flash forward three weeks to Saturday, and we did a full 6.2 miles together, without a single stop. She even had gas in the tank for a sprint up the driveway at the end. I think we may have a new running pal on our hands!

A particularly good year for foliage

 I guess the super-dry summer had one good consequence. The leaves this year have been outstanding.

Syl did a painting of this scene, for Aunt Mary, who has been in a rehab center since breaking her hip a few weeks ago. I think she is going to like it.

Sunday was in the mid 60s, so we pushed the season and did a (last?) shorts and tees bike ride to our favorite bakery for lunch.

The foliage has hampered my own long rides. I keep stopping to take photos!
