First school dance

Last night was the 5th Grade Bash, where 5th graders from all 3 Wayland elementary schools come together to party down at the Middle School. The theme was “Lights, Cameras, Action!”  Syl and her pals Ashley and Megumi decided to embrace the theme by dressing up as a photographer, a movie star, and a security guard. They gave the moms ample time to assemble their costumes (as in, Sylvia told me this on Tuesday), but somehow they (WE) pulled it off!

(B is fine. He’s in a cone because he keeps scratching at a sore on his face. I think he’s gotten used to it.)

Happy Baptism, Angelina!

We had a fun trip to NYC last weekend to celebrate our newest niece. Angelina's, Baptism.

The flight there was pretty bumpy, but the view as we circled Manhattan was worth it!

Syl was super excited to get to the hotel and see her cousins! A night on the town, even in the rain, was a good time.

Roomies!

Saturday we all played dress-up and headed to the church.

There was clearly a Master Braider at large in the Apple...

The Young Lady of the Weekend...

Then it was off to Amy and Christian's (and Angelina's!) house for lunch, and a tour of the fabulous new house!

Got 'em all!

Uncle Christian has an ELEVATOR!

...and some impressive stairs.

For burning youthful energy, climbing big rocks in Central Park can't be beat.

And then a wonderful dinner at The Grill, courtesy, the young honoree!

A boys' nightcap, some morning climbing, and that closed it out. Syl was... tired.

Many more photos at this link. Thanks, Amy and Christian, for a great weekend. And congratulations, Angelina!
