Syl’s first concert

Last Friday Dan and I took Sylvia and 3 of her buds (Megumi, Avery and Rose) to the Ed Sheeran concert. They thought it was awesome—dancing in the stands, eating tons of junk, and staying out waaaay past their bedtimes.

And still enthused the morning after!

Wayland Weston Social Dance

Today Syl went to her first dance and etiquette class. I’m not holding my breath.

Because Fourth Grade Was SO Last Year...

For anyone inclined to attribute Syl's first day wardrobe to my t-shirt obsession, you are wrong. This was all her mom (which means: VICTORY!!!)

90 for a high today, and no AC in the school. Hence the instruction: dress for comfort!

And look who just HAPPENED to have the very same outfit...

Summer's End

Syl and I capped summer this morning with a HOT bike ride. We were on a mission.

Recognize this house, Uncle Ben and Aunt Lia?

Mission Accomplished!

Good way to end the summer. Tomorrow, Fifth Grade!!

Wrapping the summer

We kicked off the summer at Winni with the Greens, and that's how we wrapped it up, too. Boy, are we lucky to have such generous friends!

'Course I brought the drone.

This is a drone selfie, I think.

And this is why drones are worth it.

This is what passes for traffic on the lake.

Like at the beginning of the summer, the Duffys were on hand.

Kids' table (hi, Melissa!).

I did my share of jet ski duty, of course.

Tuned up by Chelan, Melissa got in the lake! Willingly!

Brad and I got out on the bikes, very briefly.

... then back to jet ski duty.

There were s'mores...

...and other things.

And more jet skiing.

"Draw Brad on a unicorn, Syl..."

Syl left a thank you portrait on the Greens' chalkboard.

All of my photos from the weekend are here.
