On our way to CA!

Sylvie was the first one up this morning, at 2:45. She was afraid we'd forget her!! Since our alarms were set for 3 it was not big loss of sleep. And as it turned out the 15 mins came in handy! On our way! 

Butt kicker

59 miles this morning, which in and of itself isn't a big deal.  But the loop included a climb to the top of Mt Wachusett. I am wiped. 

Art

Sylvie's art has now officially surpassed mine. I could never pull off a girl and horse so convincingly. 

Make way for ducklings

Sylvie & I came home from the kids' races tonight to find a mother duck & 2 ducklings trotting through our yard. I'm not sure which of us was more excited.

Pool play date

Syl's pal Maeve came with us to Glen Ellen today, where we ran into their other pal (Syl's former frenemy) Jax. Fun time was had by all. 

Flowers

Oak Grove is beautiful in different ways all year long. At just three minutes from our house, it is a great place to visit.

This last one cracks me up. I knew Sylvie could run, but didn't know just how fast until a garter snake whipped across her path. She didn't stop running--or screaming--until she got back to the parking lot!

Growing up

Every now and again I bust out the camera and just take a bunch of shots of Sylvie's face. It kind of drives her nuts, and I have to do it when Melissa is not around because she'd tell me to leave the poor kid alone. Some day she'll thank me (?).

Off to the races!

The Holliston Children's races started up again tonight, so of course Sylvie & I made an appearance. Nothing better than running in 90+ heat!
