Such an exciting day! Sylvie did a great job on the Big Stage at her first real dance recital! And she was super-excited / super-touched to have Grandma and Grandpa AND the O'Learys in the audience.

And I have to say, there is something very cool about the fact that my best friend from Holliston High, Andy Cocchiarella, had a kid in the same show.

First Recital!

Well, the dress rehearsal anyhow. In a policy move that could only have been intended to strike directly at the core of my being, the fascists who run Sylvie's dance school have decreed that cameras of all kinds shall be banned from tomorrow's recital - though we proud parents were welcomed to attend and record the dress rehearsal on Monday. So of course I did...

Funniest thing to me about these shots? The "stick the tongue out while concentrating" thing is apparently genetic.

Just a week before Sylvie's own dance recital debut, it was a special treat when Grandma Lynne broke out a "magic box" full of Mommy's, Aunt Emily's, Aunt Naomi's, and Aunt Amy's old dance recital outfits!

How lucky for Sylvie to have her cousins in town for some inaugural play on her new playground?!

They left this morning and she already misses them terribly.  Hoping this vid will cheer her up!

Super heroes!!!

Grandma Lynne brought the kids a Super Surprise - Super Hero capes and Power Bracelets!!! Needless to say, there have been many acts of superhuman strength, flying, etc. going on around here this weekend...

The kids also turned Sylvie's trampoline into a fairly convincing Space Speeder... Steven was the designated driver, which made perfect sense. He only drinks milk.
