Christmas in FL

First thing first: in a year when so many people were prevented by a huge storm from getting to their destinations for Christmas, Syl and I have NO weather-related complaints. Somehow we made it out of Boston as the storm hit. And although the cold weather followed us to Florida and stayed PRECISELY as long as we were there, we got to spend our Christmas with Grammy and Grampy, as planned.

Syl and I were a little ambitious the first morning, heading out for a run in our "Florida running" gear. As one parka-clad woman who passed us in the below-freezing wind chill commented, "You must be Northerners!"

Oh, and we passed a dead fish.

Dinner in a restaurant with an open front on a 35 degree night was... pleasant but cold. Christmas!

The Night BEFORE Christmas, to be exact.

Syl's painting gifts were big hits, as always.

Christmas dinner at the Bay House, and its streak of meals without a single miss continues.

We saw friends from Wisconsin (it was warmed outside than inside at this place, which was NOT to say it was warm)!

Cold weather driving lessons.

And a more appropriately-clad run on our last day.

Oh, hi Mr. Sun! Nice of you to come out to see us off!

Thanks for a great time, Gram and Gramp! More photos in the December 2022 Gallery.

Bonus points if you can find it. :)

Neither rain nor snow nor... flu!

We were a couple of days delayed after the flu put me down for the count last week, but on Sunday Santa's U-Haul rode again. Our annual Holiday Dreams tradition remains a favorite part of the season.

we missed the reigning air hockey champ this year, but it is always nice to see the CT crew.

Chopped!

Melissa took Syl for a haircut last month. First, she was allowed to chop her own ponytail!

I loved her long hair, but even I can admit it was getting... unruly.

Cambridge

Syl has been introduced to the wonders of the LA Burdick’s dark hot cocoa.
