Punkin Huntin' 2017

We went to Verrill Farm in Concord this morning in search of pumpkins, and happened upon a fall festival!

This llama was a bit stand-offish.

More luck with the donkey.

I forced Syl into the corn shucking race. She punished me by coming in dead last. Yes: behind the little dude in the right of the frame.

Syl much prefers corn of the popped variety.

"Pick your own" pumpkins was more accurately described as "pick UP your own, but we appreciated the selection.

This one was a keeper.

As always, one per member of the family, roughly sized.

Decorating mania!

Meredith, the designer who helped us decorate some rooms of the new (although I guess not so new anymore!) house, has started posting before & after photos of our rooms on her blog and Instagram account. If you're interested, her blog address is http://viewfrommyheels.blogspot.com/?m=1 and her Instagram link is http://instagram.com/viewfrommyheels. She calls our house #plainrdproject on her Instagram account.

When Dad loses track of reality...

Last week I spent a not inconsiderable amount of time convincing Sylvie to go to the Patriots game with me on Sunday. The forecast was ideal, the game would (I thought!) be uneventful... it seemed a good opportunity to introduce her to football and possibly establish an annual father/daughter tradition. With some urging, I suspect, from her mother, she reluctantly agreed.

Flash forward to Sunday morning, as I literally said, "Sylvie, get on your shoes, it's time to go!" and went to my ticket stash, only to discover... I didn't actually have tickets to Sunday's game! Of course as soon as I realized that I remembered trading them away for a double-up on the Atlanta game in a few weeks. But man!

Of course Sylvie, honest as ever, readily admitted that she never actually wanted to go in the first place. We went to C&L Frosty instead, and Syl could not have been happier.

A little bonus silver lining: had we gone, Syl would almost certainly have talked me in to a first ever violation of my "no leaving until the whistle" rule, and I would have missed the best Pats comeback since, er, the Super Bowl (sorry, Browns fans). So all's well that ends well.

Random addendum: it is good luck to have a toad infestation?

Happy Schwendtoberfest

We have fun friends.

Apparently I am not the only man in Wayland who is aware of Amazon Prime...

Hey Dad! I finally found a use for your stein collection!

Labor Day on Winnie - drone video

A lot of my tech "toy" purchases are wastes of money. I know this. The drone, though, is not.

Winnie Summer Bookends

We kicked off Summer '17 at the Greens' house on Winnie on Memorial Day Weekend, and that's where we closed it out on Labor Day Weekend.

Syl tumbles gracefully...

Ritz Crackers and sunshine...

Having mastered tubing, Syl's next challenge was knee-boarding. Can waterskiing be far behind? Summer 2018 awaits...

Thanks, Greens, for another great summer!
