Buried in gifts!!!

Boy did Sylvia ever clean up this birthday! Thanks everyone!!

First Field Trip

Sylvie's class took their first field trip of the year this Friday (yes, the same day as the sleepover madness!). They went to Plimoth Plantation, where you get to see how the first English settlers and the Native Americans of that period lived. I was a chaperone--fun, but probably not the best idea on the same day as the party! Syl really enjoyed it.

Syl especially wanted a photo of the giant loom for Grandma Lynne.

Aftermath

Zero casualties. +\- 6 hours of sleep. Better than I expected!!

This is how I found them at 6:15 AM:

Munchkins restored some of their vitality.

Then on to presents!

After a little outdoor play the parents started showing up and, just like that, it was over. Sylvie is... WIPED.

Photos from before trying to sleep

No idea how tonight is going to go from "bedtime" on, but here is how it went so far:

As mentioned previously, we got a photo booth.

"It's a bomb."

"Cake makes me CRAZY!!!"

Daddy still got it.

Settling in to watch a movie...

And finally "bedding down," whatever that means.

Chaos at 101 Plain Road

Sylvia decided she wanted a sleepover for her 9th. I thought 3-4 girls. Melissa invited her WHOLE CLASS, plus Hollistonians. Holy mackerel can 14 little girls create a lot of... energy.

Got a photo booth again. A much bigger one.

I'm a lumberjack and I'm okay...

For my birthday my team at work got me a tower of beer...

... and Melissa and Syl got me an espresso machine and a chainsaw. What could be better??!!?

Thanks to everyone else who sent cards and gifts. I am a lucky guy!

Trick or Treat '16

Like everything else social in this new neighborhood of ours,Wayland does Halloween big!!!

Last night Syl and Melissa attended a huge neighborhood pre-party at the Greens'. Then I took over and accompanied Syl and a gaggle of easily 100 kids on a two hour romp through the neighborhood.

Sky's pal for most of the night was her friend and classmate, Megami. Nice kid.

At the end of the night they horse-traded before we headed home for the last stop of the night...

For the record (and our own planning purposes), 101 Plain Road saw exactly one trick or treater. And there she is:

We are blaming the long driveway. Kids these days...
